4 Afghan civilians killed as unknown armed men open fire

Four civilians lost their lives on Friday evening as unidentified armed men sprayed bullets on a civil car in Khost province, 150 km southeast of capital city Kabul, police spokesman in the province said Saturday.

"Unknown armed men opened fire on a car in Lakan area outside provincial capital the Khost city Friday evening, leaving four commuters dead," Ziarat Azhand told Xinhua.

The attackers made their good escape, the spokesman said, adding search operation is underway to locate and arrest those behind the bloody incident

He also blamed the enemies of peace, a term used against Taliban militants by Afghan officials for the attack but the outfit fighting the government has yet to make comment.
